Alone

I was alone and felt alone when I was in Edinburgh. All the beautiful places seemed to be distant right in front of my eyes.
We came to this world alone and leave alone.
Aloneness is just a part of life.
Faster I master being alone, better I will be able to learn about life, I suppose.

It ain't donuts! Tarte Tropezienne

I love bread, good bread.
But I've never thought someone can turn fine bread into unforgettable dessert.
The butterly brioche filled with custard cream, then covered with feather like crumbly sugar...
Oh, man!.. my husband yelped after one bite,
Is this for real?.. I squealed with joy.
The guide book said it is only available in St Tropez, as a matter of fact, I have not seen it anywhere else. I ate three.. it was totally worthy it!

Swiss Fries

Most fries are dissapointing.
Anthony Bourdain's resturant, Les Halles has very good fries, other than that no fries has been worth eating.
Then I found out about Swiss fries.
I am not sure if it is the kind of potatoes or oil they use, prehaps the combination of the two.
Every time I go to Switerzerland my first meal is steak and fries ( I order steak just to get fries).
Crispy, nutty, insanely delicious.... just can't find words to describe how amazing it is..
If you happen to go to Europe, drop by Switzerland just to have fries, you will be very happy about making that trip.

London?

It is not Paris or Venice.

If you don't expect much from London, you will be pleasantly surprised by how beautiful London is.

You put your camera in a B&W setting, you can easily take vintage photos without having to avoid obstacles that has too much modern elements.

Breakfast in Europe

I love Europe.

I love the old world, real food and their approach to life.

When I am in Europe, I really don't want to come back to The US.
However, there are two things that I miss about The US whenever I am in Europe, eggs and bacon breakfast and Trader Joe's.

I just can't do pastry for breakfast.
Pastry for breakfast is like having pumpkin pie for Thanks Giving dinner.

Brits do my kind of breakfast, Amen!

Cute in a roasted way..

I was a vegetarian for two years.
I did not have a particular belief about not killing and/or not eating animals.
It was not for salutary benefits either.
I fasted for two days during Yom Kippur few years back. After the fasting, I no longer felt like eating any animals, and it went on for almost two years.
what got me back to a meat eater?
Bacon and Ham..

It can be a good thing.

I was walking on a street in Bath, England, all of sudden this amazing meaty, fatty, frying smell hit me. When I got to the source of the smell, I found out the name of the food was this. The kind British lady was explaining to me how it is made and mentioned the name of the food at least once in every sentences.
